Sustainable Strategies

Recycled materials will be used throughout the spaces as much as possible. The weekly menu will be printed on recycled paper, and then be recycled when not in use anymore. Fabrics will also be considered for their sustainability.

La Vie will make each meal fresh and to other, so that no extra food is wasted. Any leftovers will be composed and sold to local resources. Any unused food can be donated to local shelters. Locally grown and produced foods will be incorporated into La Vie's menu. This will be done with a set menu, and an additional weekly/daily menu with the available local food options.

La Vie will coordinate with the city about local transportation systems. La Vie will connect with kcATA which holds control of the transit system and the local buses. Sending in a an application to kcATA to become a stop along their route, will help the restaurant become more immersed within the community. This will also allow those who may not have available transpiration, will be able to experience the restaurant.

Water will be a focus for La Vie. Grey water and low flow systems will be implemented throughout the restaurant. The grey water system will be placed in the restroom water closets, it will be installed due to environment benefits, reduced water costs and the make sure water demands are met.6 Low flow fixtures will also be implemented for water conservation and to save money.7
